The 2025 Stanley Cup Finals has now become a best-of-three series, with the first team to win two games taking home the grand prize. Game 5 is being played tonight, and will beat at Edmonton's Rogers Place.

So far, this year's Stanley Cup Finals has been nothing short of spectacular, and has become must-watch television. In game 4, the Oilers erased a Panthers' 3-0 lead, to eventually win the game 5-4 in overtime, on Leon Draisaitl's overtime record-setting goal (4 by a player in a single playoff).
"I'm sure there's going to be some more exciting hockey," Oilers' head coach Kris Knoblauch said. "You look at these four games, and all have been nail-biters. They've been going back and forth. Either team could have won."

The same will likely be the case in game 5, as home-ice advantage seems to mean little. The Oilers became the 2nd road-team in Stanley Cup Final's history, after the 1919 Montreal Canadiens, to come back from a 3-goal deficit and win, and the 7th to record ,multiple, multiple-goal comeback wins in a single NHL Finals.
Who will hoist the Cup is anybody's guess, and may just come down to which team has the better goalie. Florida will almost-certainly go with Sergei Bobrovsky, who's been spectacular, and has taken Florida to the finals in 2-consecutive campaigns.
For Edmonton, it's not so cut-and-dry. Oilers coach had to make the difficult decision of pulling Stuart Skinner, after the goalie allowed three-unanswered goals, and was replaced by Calvin Pickard, a decision that worked in Oilers' favor, as they went on to win the game.
Stuart Skinner, or Calvin Pickard for game 5? Pickard had been terrific, with a 6-0 record prior to his injury in game 2 of the 2nd-round - he's now 7-0.
Skinner has won 7 games with 3 shutouts this playoffs. The decision for coach Knoblauch will be another difficult one to make. He's not made an announcement as to who will start game 5, though we will soon know tonight, just before the puck drops.
