Bad news confirmed for Montreal Canadiens goaltender Sam Montembeault

The Montreal Canadiens just wrapped up morning skate, and head coach Martin St. Louis has given fans insight into their goaltending situation.

According to sources, superstar goaltender Sam Montembeault has been listed as day-to-day by the Habs training staff after suffering an awkward lower body injury during Game 3.

For those who missed it -- Sam Montembeault, who gave up two goals on 13 shots, exited the game with 8:21 left in the second period.

In response, the Montreal Canadiens sent out backup goaltender Jakub Dobes to finish the game, and all signs indicate the Habs crease now belongs to him.

Interestingly, the Montreal Canadiens announce they have re-called goaltender Cayden Primeau from the Laval Rocket, further emphasizing the severity of Sam Montembeault's injury.

Montembeault's absence from the Canadiens lineup could have a significant impact on their chances of success in the rest of the series.

According to Habs Fanatics, Cayden Primeau, 25 years old, has compiled a record of 2-3-1 with the Montreal Canadiens this season, with a goals-against average of 4.70 and a save percentage of 0.836.

With the Laval Rocket, he has been absolutely outstanding over the past few months.
He boasts a record of 21-2-2, a goals-against average of 1.96, and an impressive save percentage of 0.927.

With Logan Thompson's appearance at practice this morning, the series may have just tilted in the Washington Capitals favour.
