Evan Bell from Sportskeeda writes that with the series back in Washington, the Capitals will look to defend home ice once more and punch their ticket to the second-round for the first time since 2018.
"During the regular season, the Capitals posted a 26-9-6 record at home, while the Habs were 17-19-5 on the road." -Bell
The Capitals have a perfect home record this series, winning the first two games at Capital One Arena.
With a win tonight, the Capitals will advance to the second-round and face the Carolina Hurricanes who closed out their series last night in 5 games against the New Jersey Devils.
"With a chance for Washington to close things out at home and the Habs looking to play spoiler, Game 5 is poised to produce fireworks." -Bell
Montreal fought hard right up to the end of the regular season to secure the final wild card spot in the East and has given Washington a tough challenge in this series as well, despite the Capitals being up 3-1.
Each of Washington's three wins in the series have effectively been one-goal games, excluding empty-netters, including a 3-2 overtime win in Game 1, a 3-1 win in Game 2, and a 5-2 Game 4 victory capped by a four-goal third period.
Puck drop is set for 7:00pm.
