The Washington Capitals recalled goaltender Clay Stevenson from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League on Monday.

Clay Stevenson will start tonight for the Caps, making his NHL debut in net. Alex Ovechkin will play along with the regular forwards. Spencer Carbery said there are some things they're working through on the back end;
Martin Fehervary and
Matt Roy didn't skate
Stevenson, 26 and undrafted, has posted an 18-8-4 record over 33 games with the Hershey Bears this season, recording a 2.94 goals-against average, a .888 save percentage, and two shutouts.
The Capitals signed Stevenson to a two-year entry-level contract on March 28, 2022, after his sophomore year at Dartmouth College in the NCAA.
Joseph also took to X to announce some expected lineup changes for the Capitals ahead of tonight's game.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound goaltender is tied for fourth in the AHL for wins among goalies who have played fewer than 35 games.
He was awarded the Phelan Award as Dartmouth's MVP and earned spots on the 2021-22 All-Ivy First Team, the ECAC All-Rookie Team, and the ECAC Third All-Star Team.
Let's see if Stevenson can earn his first NHL start as the Capitals close out their season in Pittsburgh against Crosby and the Penguins.
