Capitals WHL prospect will report to Hershey Bears
Following a standout junior season, 2024 first-round pick Terik Parascak is set to join the AHL's Hershey Bears, the Washington Capitals announced Sunday afternoon.
The 18-year-old forward tallied an impressive 82 points (28 goals, 54 assists) in 59 games with the WHL's
Prince George Cougars, ranking fourth among U-18 players.
His season wrapped up on April 7 after a Game 7 loss to
the Portland Winterhawks. Parascak led the Cougars in scoring during the first-round series, registering 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists).
Parascak was tied for fourth in WHL scoring among players aged 18 or younger. He also led the Prince George Cougars in postseason production, tallying 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) across seven playoff games.
During the first-round series against the Portland Winterhawks, he recorded three multi-point performances, highlighted by a three-point night (2 goals, 1 assist) in Game 1, where he netted the overtime winner.
Ian Oland of RMNB writes that Parascak is the latest talented young player in the system to join the Hershey Bears ahead of the postseason.
He played for Edge School Prep Academy in the CSSHL U18, where he wrapped up the 2022-23 season ranked second in both goals (32) and points (66) over 30 games.
He also led the league in playoff scoring with 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists) in five games, helping his team capture the CSSHL U18 championship.
