The Chicago Blackhawks are facing off against the Washington Capitals tonight, and the entire world will be watching as the "Great Chase" reaches its epic conclusion. That said, Blackhawks star Connor Bedard has been a fan of Ovechkin since he was a child, and with these two superstars facing off tonight, it feels fitting that Ovechkin could break the record.
It's no secret that Connor Bedard is one of the biggest icons in hockey.
Despite being on a rebuilding team, Connor Bedard has shown flashes of brilliance, with the potential to become a formidable threat like Alexander Ovechkin.
In honour of tonight's matchup, we dug up a pregame interview of Connor Bedard from his first NHL season before playing the Capitals.

Alexander Ovechkin could surpass Gretzky, and his answer was pure gold.
