The Hershey Bears season is officially over. The Washington Capitals farm affiliate were chasing their third consecutive Calder Cup in the AHL playoffs, but were dealt a decisive loss at the hands of the Charlotte Checkers.

Well, it's not the results the Hershey Bears had hoped for.
Coming into this series against the Charlotte Checkers, the Bears looked promising after defeating the Lehigh Phantoms, but similar the Carolina Hurricanes, the Bears struggled to matchup to the checkers high powered offence.

According to RMNB, Wednesday, in front of a loud crowd at Giant Center, the Bears fell to the Charlotte Checkers 6-3 in Game 3 and were swept out of the Atlantic Division Finals in three games. Their AHL record playoff series winning streak, which spanned a period of three years (2023-2025), ends at 9.
The Checkers recorded 38 shots in the victory, with 20 of them coming in the second period alone. Hershey managed just two shots in the second and were outshot in every game of the series.
With the loss, the pro career of 37-year-old Bears forward Garrett Roe comes to an end. Other Hershey veterans like Hunter Shepard, Riley Sutter, Luke Philp, Alex Limoges, Ethan Bear, and Chase Priskie are without contracts for next season.
With the bears season officially over, the Bears now turn their attention to the 2025-25 NHL season.
The Washington Capitals farm system boasts one of the strongest prospect pools in the NHL, with big names like Ivan Miroshnichenko, Ilya Protas, and Bogdan Triveyev making a case to crack the Caps' starting roster.
