The Washington Capitals knew the Bell Centre would be loud for Game 3, but they didn't handle the environment well.

They lost 6-3 to the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night and their series lead is now 2-1 heading into Game 4.
Head coach Spencer Carbery didn't sugarcoat the performance.
"It wasn't good overall, the whole thing without the puck, all three zones," Carbery said. "We hung around, get the equalizer in the third, and then really poor coverage on a face-off situation in the neutral zone and then it snowballs, we lose control."
The Capitals also lost Logan Thompson to an apparent injury after teammate Dylan Strome collided with him during Juraj Slafkovsky's goal that made the game 5-3.
Montreal capitalized on Washington Capitals mistakes and Alexandre Carrier, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Christian Dvorak and Juraj Slafkovski all scored after critical Capitals errors.
Lane Hutson set up Cole Caufield's one-timer with just nine seconds left in the second period and this goal was shifting momentum for good.
Spencer Carbery said that nerves and poor puck management were the biggest issues but was giving credit to Montreal's intensity.
"We weren't very good with the puck so I think it's firmness," Carbery said. "I think it's a little bit of nerves. I think it's a little bit of poise in that environment. We coughed up a lot of pucks in a lot of different areas."

The Canadiens were fueled by their home crowd and they now believe they can push this series deeper and game 4 is set for Sunday at Bell Centre, where the atmosphere promises to be even more electric.
