Alexander Ovechkin set to join new team team this summer in Russia
It's official, Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin will be playing hockey in the most special way.
According to sources, Alexander Ovechkin will play in the prestigious KHL vs NHL All-Star game this summer.
The team comprises of the best Russian athletes across the NHL and KHL as they battle it out for Russian hockey supremacy.

Mikhail Sergachev told MatchTV in a new interview that Ovechkin is among those set to play in the second annual "Match of the Year" in Russia between Russian KHL and NHL All-Stars.
The 39-year-old is back overseas for the offseason, having flew back to Russia at the end of May. After visiting the Federation Council and presenting chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko with a Washington jersey, he travelled to Turkey for vacation, where he'll be for the next few weeks before returning home to begin training for the upcoming season with Pavel Burlachenko.
The game is set to happen in mid July, and what a thrilling event to behold if you're a hockey fan.
The Russian Hockey Federation has been left out of best-on-best events since their geo-political issue with the Ukraine, so this event will be something all Russian hockey enthusiasts will be tuning in to watch.
Alexander emerged as a big hero in the NHL this season, shattering Wayne Gretzky's all-time scoring record.
Regardless of the outcome of the game, Ovechkin will be heading into the game as a national hero.
