Washington Capitals forward Dylan Strome score hat trick against New York Islanders
Tonight, Dylan Strome was an absolute force, scoring all three goals for the Washington Capitals in a dominant performance against the New York Islanders. Simply put, he wasn't going to be denied.
At 8:15 in the first period, Strome opened the scoring with a rocket past goaltender
Ilya Sorokin, putting the Caps' on the board in emphatic fashion.
He followed it up in the second period with his second of the night, capitalizing on a slick setup from captain
Alex Ovechkin -- Ovi's 29th assist of the year.
Then, in what seemed like a feel-good coaching call,
Spencer Carbery sent Strome back out late in the game, and he didn't waste the opportunity--sealing the hat track with an empty-netter.
Now sitting at 29 goals, Strome has solidified himself as one of the Caps' top offensive threats this season. With the playoffs just around the corner, his red-hot form couldn't have come at a better time.
The Washington Capitals will look to close out their regular season on a high note when they face off against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday, April 17th. This is a must-watch matchup, as it marks the final meeting between two legendary rivals-- Alex Ovechkin and
Sidney Crosby.
Plus, all eyes will be on Dylan Strome, who is on the verge of breaching the 30-goal mark.
