The ECHL has officially announced Jared Nightingale of the South Carolina Stingrays as the winner of the 2024-25 John Brophy Award by honoring him as the league's Coach of the Year.

The award places Nightingale in elite company since he becomes the third head coach in Stingrays history to receive the honor which is following in the footsteps of Spencer Carbery in 2013-14 and Steve Bergin in 2019-20 who both left a lasting legacy within the organization.
The John Brophy Award that is named after the ECHL's all-time winningest coach is presented annually to the coach judged to have contributed the most to his team's success.
Voters this season were impressed by Jared Nightingale's ability to elevate his group and build a strong locker room culture.
Jared Nightingale has transitioned into coaching but was before a former professional defenseman with over a decade of playing experience.
His calm demeanor, attention to detail and commitment to player development have been praised not just by his team, but by peers across the league and under his guidance, the Stingrays have taken major strides both on the ice and in the standings.
His recognition with this award is a testament to the direction South Carolina is heading as a franchise and as the Stingrays gear up for the playoffs, Nightingale's steady hand and sharp hockey mind will be key assets in their quest for a championship.
