Former Hershey Bears Player Passes Away

A former Hershey Bear has passed away. Guido Tenesi who was drafted in 1973 by the Pittsburgh Penguins 71st overall and was also drafted 106th overall by the Toronto Toros in the WHA draft, but is probably more known for his role in the movie Slap Shot.
Guido Tenesi would play 10 games for the Hershey Bears in 1974 and four games in 1975 for the Bears who were a Pittsburgh Penguins affiliate at the time prior to the Hershey Bears becoming the Washington Capitals minor league affiliate Hershey Bears.
Despite being on the Hershey Bears in 1974, he wasn't on the roster for the Hershey Bears Calder Cup championship team from that season.

During his time playing for the Johnstown Jets, he was able to help the Jets with the NAHL's Lockhart Cup back in 1975.
Guido Tenesi's career would span from 1970 to 1987 when he played a season in Italy. His best season statistically came back in the 1977-78 IHL season when Guido Tenesi would score 22 goals with 41 assists to go along with 77 PIMs in 79 games.
In the 1978-79 season, Guido Tenesi would win the Governor's Trophy as the most outstanding defensemen during the IHL season.
Guido Tenesi would never make it to the National Hockey League, but would be known from his time with the NAHL Johnstown Jets. During his time with the Johnstown Jets Guido Tenesi would be one of the players off of the Jets that was cast in the all-time cult classic hockey movie Slap Shot.
In Slap Shot Guido Tenesi would be cast as Billy Charlebois. The role of Billy Charlebois was that of a ladies' man who was always focused on his looks.
