The Carolina Hurricanes are hoping for a positive update on Jordan Martinook's condition as they prepare for Game 4 of their first-round matchup against the Washington Capitals.

Martinook exited Saturday's Game 3 victory midway through the third period after taking a shot block from Capitals forward Pierre-Luc Dubois. He seemed to be favoring his left leg as he headed to the Hurricanes' locker room.

Martinook leaves Game 3 against the Capitals with injury.

Sportsnet reports that no immediate details were available regarding the nature or severity of the injury.
There are many examples why he's called the heart and soul of the locker room, and here's another one.

A crucial block from Jordan Martinook to take away what could have been Washington getting on the board.
Before leaving the game, the 32-year-old forward had logged 15:16 of ice time, recorded three hits, and blocked two shots.
Rod Brind'Amour says he thinks the #Canes came out of Game 3 okay, and although there was some concern post-game last night, Jordan Martinook and Jalen Chatfield both should be good to go for Monday's Game 4.
Martinook tallied 15 goals and 36 points over 79 regular-season games for Carolina and has added one goal and three assists so far in the playoffs.
Saturday's win gave the Hurricanes a 2-1 edge in the best-of-seven series.
Game 4 is set for Monday night 7:00pm in Carolina. Hopefully, Martinook will be good to go come game-time.
