The NHL Draft Lottery took place on Monday night and the results are in!
The New York Islanders will pick first at the 2025 NHL Entry Draft this summer.
This marks the second time the Islanders have won the draft lottery and earned the first overall pick. The last time was in 2009, when they selected standout Canadian forward John Tavares.

The Islanders came into this year's draft lottery with just a 3.5% shot at landing the first overall pick, but fortune favoured them.
They leapfrogged teams like the Sharks, Blackhawks, and Predators, all of whom had odds over 10%. The Sharks ended up with the No. 2 pick, while the Utah Hockey Club won the second draw and will select fourth overall.

The draft will take place from June 27-28 in Los Angeles, California.
