Spencer Carbery is the fist Washington Capitals head coach since 2016 to win the Jack Adams Award on Saturday, after leading his team to 1st in the Eastern Conference and 2nd in the NHL, and this in only his second year as the team's head coach.

It is truly an honor to be recognized as being the best at your job, and even more so when you're recognized for as the first in history to accomplish something that had never before been done.
Carbery is the only person to have ever won Coach of the Year honors in the NHL, AHL, and ECHL.
Spencer led the Capitals to a 51-22-9 record, and his team was the first in the NHL to clinch a playoff berth, after just sqeaking into to playoffs last season.
"To recognize Carbery's accomplishments, Alex Ovechkin had this to say: Hey Carbs, on behalf of all the players, congrats on Jack Adams award. Well deserved on that."

It was expected that congratulatory messages would come from all over, but when it's received from your own staff, who've been with you the whole time and understand the work and commitment that goes into the job, well, then it's extra special.
Emily Engle-Natzke Washington, the Capitals video coach, said: Amazing coach, but an even more amazing person, genuine person. Working with him everyday and being part of his staff is an honor and an absolute privilege.
Colorado coach Jared Bednar, who was responsible for bringing Carbery to South Carolina as the former general manager and head coach of the Stingrays, knows precisely what Carbery is capable of.
"Last year, I was impressed with what you did with your team. And then this year, you just took it to a while nother level, buddy. And it was really impressive. I was not surprised at all, but I was thoroughly impressed."

Impressive is one word that comes to mind when describing the kind of season Carbery had in 2024-25. Amazing, incredible, historical are others that come to mind.
"Hey Spencer, DQ here, man. Want to say congrats on the Jack Adams," Dan Quinn of the Washington Commanders said. "Coach of the Year, it's a big deal. We're all pumped for you, bro. Keep it rocking."
