Rod Brind'Amour gives injury update on Mark Jankowski
The Carolina Hurricanes saw a member of their bottom-six forward unit go down during Game 1 against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.
Mark Jankowski, who centered the Hurricanes' fourth line, exited Tuesday's 2-1 win with an undisclosed injury. The 30-year-old logged only 6:16 of ice time, with his final shift coming at the 4:42 mark of the second period.
Hurricanes forward leaves Game 1 with an undisclosed injury on Tuesday.
Head coach Rod Brind'Amour didn't offer a postgame update on Jankowski but indicated he wasn't overly concerned about the injury.
«I don't think it's too serious, but enough that he couldn't play." -Brind'Amour
On Wednesday, Brind'Amour also provided an update on Jankowski's status ahead of Game 2 on Thursday.
Jankowski will be a game-time decision tomorrow, Brind'Amour says
Jankowski was a trade deadline pickup from the Nashville Predators. The former Calgary Flames first-rounder tallied eight goals in 19 regular-season games for Carolina and has appeared in only three of the team's six playoff matchups so far.
In 60 games played between the Predators and Hurricanes this season, Jankowski recorded a total of 12 goals and 5 assists.
Rod Brind'Amour says
Mark Jankowski (undisclosed injury) is "definitely better today" and expected to be a game-time decision for tomorrow's Game 2.
Game 2 goes tomorrow at 7:00pm from Capital One Arena. Washington will look to bounce back after a poor performance on home ice in Game 1. They will not want to go down 2-0 in the series heading back to Carolina for Game 3.
