The Washington Capitals are preparing for the second round of the NHL playoffs, and the team is wrapping their first practice since eliminating the Montreal Canadiens. With that in mind Spencer Carbery is preparing his squad, and a few key developments have come out of practice today.

After a dominant performance against the Montreal Canadiens, the Washington Capitals look to keep the momentum going against their divisional rivals.

Updates from Washington Capitals practice

The Washington Capitals just finished up the morning skate, and no changes have been made to the starting roster.

Forward Taylor Raddysh will likely remain a healthy scratch for Game 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes after being left off the starting roster in Game 5 against the Habs.
Goaltender Logan Thompson remains in the starters crease and looks sharp despite a scary collision with forward Dylan Strome in Game 3.
Dylan McIlrath and Ethan Bear are the extra blue liners and will likely watch Game 1 in the press box.
Forward Aliaksei Protas remains on the third line after returning to the lineup in Game 5, following an absence of over a month.
He's expected to stay in that role until head coach Spencer Carbery opts to make changes to the top-six.
Game 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes is set for Tuesday.
More details to follow.
