The NHL's Department of Safety announced yesterday that they have fined Jake Walman a total of $10k, the maximum allowed under the current CBA, for two incidents that occurred in game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals between Edmonton and Florida.

The game between the two Stanley Cup finalists was a heated affair, with Edmonton losing composure and showing signs of animosity toward their hated rivals, the Florida Panthers, including two incidents that were reviewed by the NHL's kangaroo court.

Walman had received two minor penalties for the 1st infraction, including an unsportsmanlike misconduct penalty for roughing-up Matthew Tkachuk of the Panthers.

The second incident unfolded outside the area of play, as Walman was exiting the ice. In response to having his glove taken and thrown in the Florida bench by A.J Greer, Walman sprayed the Panthers' bench with one of their own water bottles.
It is unlikely that further action will be taken for the two infractions, as no injuries occurred during either incident.
There were a total of 35 penalties called in game 3, with 26 coming in the 3rd period. Oilers' Darnel Nurse had the most with 19 PIMs, the Panthers' Jonah Gadjovich with 15 PIMs.
Edmonton lost game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals, as well as their composure, and now trail the series 2-1.
"It was a weird game, obviously, when you start in the 1st with four penalties," Connor McDavid said. "That means half a period you're killing and it's not a good way to get into your game. We never got our game."

Oilers tried to play the Panthers-style of rough and tumble hockey, but were unable to beat them at Florida's own game.
"I don't think we lost our composure until maybe the very end there,: McDavid added. "I don't mind the fight back, that's what good teams do."

Indeed, except that it seemed more like a loss of composure, than a fight-back, from early in the game. However, Oilers are more than capable of tying the series, as they came back in last year's Stanley Cup Finals from a 3-0 series deficit against these dame Panthers, but lost in game 7.
This is series will likely go 7 games, I believe.
