8 hand-numbered and signed rookie cards up for grabs

Alex Ovechkin card collectors will be rushing to their local hobby shops in droves on June 11, as news that 8 hand-numbered and signed Ovi Young Guns rookie cards have been placed in the Upper Deck's 2024-25 Extended Series release.
The NHL's exclusive trading card partner Upper Deck announced that UD Extended Series, the 3rd in its flagship product series, will be released in retail format on June 11.
The original Ovechkin Young Guns rookie card was released in UD's 2005-06 Series 2 boxes, and has been a highly sought after card ever since. UD bought back 8 of the raw rookie cards from the hobby market, for Ovechkin to sign as part of their promotion.
The autographed cards are numbered 1/8 through 7/8, with the main and final chaser numbered GR8/8. This inscription will no doubt increase the value of what is already of highly-valuable card.
The base version of Ovi's Young Guns usually sells for $1k plus on the secondary markets, according to RMNB, though I've personally seen them go for more than $5k, depending on the authentication grade, and as much as $10k for PSA 10's.
An Upperdecksports posting on social media calls their Ovi rookie card campaign 'jaw dropping', as it honors Ovechkin's milestone with this legendary, rare chase. The cards will be available in the 2024-25 UD Extended Series hobby and e-pack boxes.
The current price for an UD Extended Series hobby box is around $120 from online and local hobby stores, though it will no doubt go up in value once it hits the secondary market. Connor Bedard's rookie year, UD hobby boxes increased by 4x on average when the hype around his Young Guns card was at its peak.
Caps fans will have plenty of fun chasing their favourite players from this product, as the checklist includes Raddysh, Thompson, Chychrun, Dubois, Roy, Duhaime, Wilson, Strome, Miroshnichenko, and Dube' cards, and of course, the GR8 himself.
