A former Washington Capitals legend will be in attendance tonight to watch Alexander Ovechkin

The Washington Capitals are gearing up for what should be an exciting matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes tonight, and a familiar face made a surprise appearance at morning skate. Former Washington Capitals star and fellow countryman Alexander Semin surprised his longtime friend and will be cheering him on from the sidelines.
That being said, many Washington Capitals alumni made the great pilgrimage to UBS Arena to watch history unfold, including T.J. Oshie, Devante Smith-Pelly, Braden Holtby, and Brooks Orpik.
While many former Capitals were able to witness their former captain become the greatest goal scorer of all time, one notable absence was Alexander Semin.
Now, he's making up for lost time by attending tonight's game to formally congratulate his longtime teammate.

Former Capital Alex Semin was at team's morning skate today and visited with some of his former teammates.
Alexander Semin was a huge part of the Washington Capitals organization, to say the least.
Semin played 650 NHL games with Washington, Carolina and Montreal, scoring 517 (239+278) points. In the KHL, Semin played 242 matches in which he scored 159 (73 + 86) points. He won the Gagarin Cup with Metallurg in 2016. As part of the Russian national team, Semin became the world champion in 2008 and 2012.
Although he never won a Stanley Cup, Alexander Semin will always be remembered as one of the most dynamic offensive players of his era and a key part of the Washington Capitals resurgence in the mid-2000s.
Regardless, his reunion with Alexander Semin was undoubtedly a happy and emotional moment.
