The Washington Capitals had one of the biggest blockbuster trades from last postseason in which the Capitals sent goaltender Darcy Kuemper to the Los Angeles Kings. The player the Washington Capitals got back in that deal from a year ago is celebrating his birthday today. Pierre-Luc Dubois who the Washington Capitals got from the Los Angeles Kings before this past season is celebrating his 27th birthday today.

Born on June 24th 1998 in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec, Canada Pierre-Luc Dubois was born with hockey running through his veins as Pierre-Luc Dubois father Éric Dubois himself was a professional hockey player.
Éric Dubois was drafted in the 4th round of the 1989 entry draft 76th overall two picks after legendary NHL hall of famer Sergei Fedorov.
Unfortunately for Éric Dubois he never made it to the NHL unlike his son, but would play in over 700 games during his minor league career. Currently Éric Dubois is an assistant coach for German Club ERC Ingolstadt after nine seasons as an assistant in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose.

Pierre-Luc Dubois celebrates his 27th birthday

The trade that brought the Washington Capitals Pierre-Luc Dubois was one of those trades that was a win-win scenario for both the Capitals and the Los Angeles Kings.
Pierre-Luc Dubois immediately fit in perfectly with the Washington Capitals and the center immediately fit in with a Washington Capitals team that is pretty much a brotherhood with how close they are.
Pierre-Luc Dubois would also have a career resurgence following the trade, as a change in scenario was exactly what Dubois needed.
Pierre-Luc Dubois would go on to play in all 82 regular season games for the Caps with 20 goals, and 46 assists on the season. Improving on his 16 goals, 24 assist effort in his lone season with the Los Angeles Kings.
Pierre-Luc Dubois would only muster 3 assists this season in the playoffs for the Washington Capitals, but proved to be a valuable asset for years to come for the Capitals.
Now at 27 years of age, Pierre-Luc Dubois still has 5 years remaining on his eight-year $68 million contract that he had originally signed with the Los Angeles Kings.
After Pierre-Luc Dubois play from this season in Washington, expect him to have many more birthdays while in the Capitals uniform.
