A leader on and off the ice: Nic Dowd wins 2024 Community Award

His commitment to using his status to elevate others has earned him big respect across the organization and the Washington community during all those years.

Nic Dowd and his wife Paige have also been passionate advocates for children with learning differences through their support of organizations like Best Buddies and Dowd's Crowd which is a Capitals program the couple helped launch to provide sensory-friendly game experiences for children with autism and sensory sensitivities.

Nic Dowd joins a long list of Capitals players who have embraced the importance of giving back both in D.C. and beyond and his dedication serves as a reminder that being a pro athlete is about more than just performance it's about people, passion, and purpose.
