Alexander Ovechkin snubs The Tonight Show in to focus on playoff push

Alexander Ovechkin is once again proving he's one of the greatest captains in NHL history, demonstrating his commitment to chasing another Stanley Cup through his actions, not words. After surpassing Wayne Gretzky's all-time scoring record, Ovechkin received an invitation to appear on the prestigious Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon -- but turned it down to keep his focus on the playoffs.
Alexander Ovechkin is giving fans even more reasons to admire him.
After the Gr8 Chase reached its epic conclusion, the Capitals captain received praise from some of the worlds biggest celebrities-- including Tom Brady, LeBron James, and Michael Phelps.
One of the many celebrities eager to join the celebration was Tonight Show host Jimmy Falon, who extended an invitation for Ovechkin to appear as a guest.
Ovechkin politely declined without hesitation, explaining that he was exhausted and needed to focus on getting his mind and body ready for the upcoming playoff push.

"I'm exhausted, I want to show respect to the coach and my teammates. I want to rest. I want to get ready for Thursday's game and sprint of the playoffs -- and that's what you want from your captain.
