Aliaksei Protas (skate cut on foot) joins the Capitals optional morning skate wearing a red jersey in Montreal ahead of Game 3 on Friday night.

Capitals forward Aliaksei Protas is taking part in line rushes in Washington's optional morning skate on Friday morning, indicating that he might return to play in Game 3 against the Montreal Canadiens.

Over the past week, Aliaksei Protas has been gradually working his way back, easing into light skating sessions while wearing a regular practice jersey. This morning, he joined his Capitals teammates in Montreal for their optional skate ahead of Game 3.
Looks like Aliaksei Protas is a full go at Caps optional morning skate. First time he's joined the group.
With their 3-1 victory over the Canadiens on Wednesday, the Capitals hold a 2-0 series lead over Montreal. After playing the last two games in Washington, the series will now shift to Montreal for Game 3 at the Bell Centre on Friday night.
He's still being closely monitored by the Capitals training staff, but seeing him on the ice with his teammates this morning is a very promising look ahead of Game 3.
Aliaksei Protas is on the ice for the Capitals morning skate. It's his first time skating with the team since he got hurt against the Blackhawks on April 4, which was Ovechkin 894 night.
We have yet to hear confirmation from Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery, so stay tuned thoughout the day for any further updates.
The Capitals will look to take a 3-0 stanglehold lead in the series.
Puck drop is set for 7pm.
