Big memories were brought up during an interview of Nicklas Backstrom and TJ Oshie

There's something about the way Alex Ovechkin talks about Nicklas Backstrom that just hits differently.
During a recent moment with the media, Ovi couldn't help but act out the moment the Capitals drafted Backstrom with his arms out, a proud grin and he was fully reenacting it like it just happened yesterday.
No script, just pure Alex Ovechkin.
It's always been like that between them and it means no need for big speeches or forced sentiment.
Nicklas Backstrom said when Ovechkin broke the record that he just looked at him and said,
«I'm so happy for you, buddy.»
The kind of simple and sincere line only someone like Nicklas Backstrom would say and what was Alex Ovechkin's response?
Then there's
T.J. Oshie who had his own «welcome to Ovi» moment and it wasn't exactly soft.
He said that he remembers Ovechkin hitting him hard at the Olympics before they were teammates.
«He's still caught me a few times,» Oshie added with a laugh.
It's funny how that's just Oviechkin's way, whether he's crashing into you or crashing the net, he's all-in.
This team has changed a lot over the years, but those relationships are built on something real and you can feel it in the way they talk about each other.
It's more than just hocke, it's history, loyalty and a lot of laughs along the way and yeah, maybe one day they'll hang up the skates.
But moments like the jokes, the little gestures, they're the kind of things people will still be talking about long after the goals and games are over.
