Capitals coach provides update on Alexeyev
The Capitals have been battling injuries as of late and Monday night was no exception. Defenseman Alex Alexeyev took a nasty high stick in the game and will reportedly require extensive dental work as a result.
Late in the third period,
Alexeyev was on the receiving end of a vicious high stick from Canadiens forward
Jake Evans, an incident that will now require major dental surgery.
Capitals' coach Spencer Carbery addressed the media following Monday's game.

Sammi Silber took to X after the game saying that coach Carbery is expecting Alexeyev to be in the lineup for Game 2 on Tuesday.
Alexeyev should be good to go tomorrow for the Capitals, Carbery said.

The Capitals' 2018 first-round pick logged 14:01 of ice time before the high stick forced him to leave the game. During his time on the ice, he registered one shot on goal, two shot attempts, two hits, and three blocked shots.
Alexeyev has quietly emerged as a key piece on the blue-line for the Capitals.
Game 2 will go Wednesday night at 7pm in Washington.
