Capitals forwards Aliaksei Protas was seen skating again on Tuesday, under the watchful eye of their team strength coach, as he continues to make progress as he attempts to return from injury.
Prior to Game 1, Protas skated for just over 10 minutes and did not participate in the full morning skate, effectively ruling him out of that first game of the series.
Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery expressed optimism that Protas would be able to return at some point during the series.
«Yeah, I think he absolutely - I would expect him to play and we'll just see when that is. Might be tonight, might be Game 2, we'll see.» -Carbery
Getting Protas back would be a significant boost for Washington. Not only was he a fixture in the team's top six throughout the season, but he also played a key role on the penalty kill alongside Tom Wilson.
