Boston University and Penn State are set to face-off in the NCAA Frozen Four semi-finals, wiith the winner advancing to the national championship game.

Boston University and Washington Capitals prospect Cole Hutson ready to shine in Frozen Four semi-final matchup against Penn State on Thursday night.

The American born elite defenceman was selected in the second round, 43rd overall, by the Washington Capitals in the 2024 NHL entry draft.
The Washington Capitals took to X with a little message for Cole ahead of Thursday night's Frozen Four game.
Go get 'em in the #MFrozenFour, Cole!
Jacob Punturi of Breakaway On Si writes that for Boston University, their tournament run has been highlighted by the standout performance of freshman defenseman and Washington Capitals draft pick Cole Hutson.
He's been the Terriers' top performer so far, and they'll need him to keep that level of play if they hope to advance further. Through two tournament games, Hutson has tallied two goals and four assists for six points, all while logging the most ice time on the team. -Punturi

The younger brother of Montreal Canadiens rookie Lane Hutson, Cole shows flashes of his brother's skill, particularly in his smooth puck movement and handling.
Cole Hutson is one of the most electrifying talents in hockey today, not just at the NCAA level. It's rare to see a player, other than his brother, with his combination of poise and offensive instincts.
He has put up impressive numbers at Boston University this season finishing with 14 goals and 32 assists, 46 points in only 37 games.
The challenge for Penn State will be finding a way to minimize Hutson's productivity. He's going to create offensive opportunities, that is undeniable, but if they can limit the damage, they might find their way to victory. -Punturi

Cole has a knack for rising to the occasion in the biggest moments-whether it's the Beanpot, the World Juniors gold medal game, or the Toledo Regional. With the Frozen Four ahead, all eyes will be on him to see how he elevates his game once again.
