Washington Capitals prospect Hendrix Lapierre has been tearing it up for the AHL Hershey Bears ever since being demoted from the NHL earlier this season.
Capitals prospect Hendrix Lapierre is inching closer to a return as he was seen skating in a non-contact jersey at the Hershey Bears practice on Tuesday.
Eric Lord of Nova Caps reports that the month of March saw the team venture out of the longest road trip in franchise history with the Bears going 6-2-1-1 on the trip earning 14 of a possible 20 points. The Bears finished the month with a strong 8-4-1-1 record led by an offensively driven Lapierre before getting injured.
Lapierre suffered an upper-body injury in late March and hasn't returned to play since. On the offensive end of the ice, he was highly productive for the Bears in March, amassing a team best 15 points in 13 games.
Bears Hockey Nation posted on X Tuesday afternoon showing a picture of Lapierre rocking a non-contact jersey.

Before suffering his injury, Lapierre finished the month on a five-game point streak.
Hershey secured a Calder Cup playoff spot with a win over Chicago on March 16. As the regular season enters its final month, Hershey remains in first place in the AHL's Atlantic Division with 85 points and a record of 39-18-6-1.
They hold a three-point lead over both the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the Charlotte Checkers.
The Hershey Bears are hoping to get their best forward back into the lineup before the start of the AHL playoffs.
