Game 2 Preview: Canadiens vs. Capitals

Following Monday's thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over the Montreal Canadiens, the Capitals were riding high with energy and excitement.
No major lineup changes for both the Capitals and Canadiens as they prepare for Game 2 of their first round series on Tuesday night.
The mood shifted drastically on Tuesday morning when the Capitals received news that defenseman
Martin Fehervary will miss the rest of the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs.
Forward
Aliaksei Protas (recovering from a skate cut on his left foot) skated solo again ahead of the morning session. Despite the progress, he's expected to miss his eighth consecutive game.

Cole Caufield,
Nick Suzuki, and
Juraj Slafkovsky had an impressive showing in Game 1, highlighted by Suzuki scoring the Canadiens' only 5-on-5 goal. The power play also showed signs of life as Caufield's goal at 10:32 in the 3rd period started their comeback.
