The Washington Capitals continue to battle through a wave of injuries, and defenceman Alex Alexeyev is the latest to join the list of banged-up players.

In Game 1 against the Montreal Canadiens, Alexeyev took a vicious high stick to the face from Jake Evans-- a hit that resulted in emergency dental surgery post-game.
The incident cost Alex Alexeyev multiple teeth, sparking concern among fans that he could be sidelined for an extended period of time.
However, in a surprising and gritty turn of events, Alex Alexeyev was spotted on the ice during the Capitals morning skate today.
Despite the damage, he suited up-- this time wearing a protective bubble mask to shield his face.
