The Washington Capitals are on the ice this morning for practice, but goaltender Logan Thompson was absent, raising questions about his availability tonight.

Well, those questions can be put to bed as insiders confirmed that Logan Thompson is fine and will be starting in net tonight for the Washington Capitals.
Additionally, head coach, Spencer Carbery has made some big adjustments to the roster. Let's take a look at some of the moves:

Washington Capitals lineup against Carolina Hurricanes

Trailing 3-1 in their second-round series against the Carolina Hurricanes, the Capitals will return to Capital One Arena on Thursday night for Game 5 and will be hoping to win this game and avoid this elimination.
The most notable absence from the skate was captain Alex Ovechkin who took a maintenance day and Ethen Frank temporarily filled his spot alongside Dylan Strome and Anthony Beauvillier on the top line.
Spencer Carbery confirmed the original trio was Alex Ovechkin, Dylan Strome and Anthon Beauvillier and is expected to remain intact for the game.
Washington's second line will now reunite Pierre-Luc Dubois with Aliaksei Protas and Tom Wilson even though they've barely played together in the playoffs, the trio posted strong possession time during the regular season and could be a key factor in turning the series around.
Connor Mcmichael will center the third line and will be flanked by Andrew Mangiapane and Ryan Leonard was marking his return to the middle after primarily playing wing this season.
Veteran Lars Eller appears to be the odd man out and could be a healthy scratch for Game 5 and the fourth line was Nic Dowd, Brandon Duhaime and Taylor Raddysh which remains intact and provides a reliable and defensively sound trio with postseason experience.
On defense, no changes are expected since Alex Alexeyev stays paired with Trevor van Riemsdyk despite limited ice time in Game 4.
With the season at stake, Spencer Carbery is hoping that these lineup changes inject energy into a team that's been outscored 9-2 over the last two games and game 5 is set for 7 p.m. ET in Washington.
