Tensions Boil at Canadiens Practice on Tuesday
Tensions are heating up for the Montreal Canadiens as they head into a must-win Game 5 in Washington tomorrow night, with the pressure clearly visible during the closing moments of their practice on Tuesday.
Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis snaps at his players at practice on Tuesday.
TVA Sports posted the coach's heated exchange earlier today on X.
St-Louis perd patience à l'entraînement 😳
This team isn't backing down, and head coach
Martin St-Louis is determined to keep his team's season alive. If the Canadiens can secure a win in Washington tomorrow night, they'll force a Game 6 back in Montreal at the Bell Centre on Friday.
Priyanta Emrith had this to say about St-Louis' mentality heading into Game 5.
#Habs Martin St-Louis on his team being used to having their backs against the wall & proving doubters wrong: "I feel all year we've had that mentality where everything looks like it's going the wrong way so to speak and we get up and speak."
Canadiens forward Bendan Gallagher also weighed in on the team's current mindset ahead of their elimination game tomorrow night.
#Habs
Brendan Gallagher says he along with the players who were on the 2021 team will draw from their experience coming back from 3-1 down vs. Toronto and do their best to relay that message to the younger guys on the team as they prepare for Game 5.
If the Canadiens need any extra motivation ahead of tomorrow's game, they'll just need to remind themselves of what happened during their 2010 playoff run against the Capitals.
Although that was fifteen years ago and a completely different team, the Canadiens have a history of coming back down 3-1 in a series and winning it. With the young team they are, I wouldn't put it past them this time around as well.
As for the Capitals, they have made the playoffs in six of the past seven seasons, but have failed to advance past the first round in each of their last five appearances.
