Washington Capitals legend Alexander Ovechkin is within arms reach of making history, tying Wayne Gretzky's all-time scoring record tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks. Despite the loss, the Chicago Blackhawks showcased a ton of class, lining up to congratulate Alexander Ovechkin after his big night.

Alexander Ovechkin rose to the occasion tonight.
"The Great Eight" has never been one to shy away from big moments, and the Washington Capitals legend delivered the goods tonight.
From the start, it was clear Alexander Ovechkin was poised to make something big happen tonight.
He was sharp, constantly around the net, and played a nearly flawless game for all 60 minutes.
While Ovechkin didn't get the hat trick fans were hoping for for, scoring two goals tonight is still nothing short of incredible.
After the 5-3 victory, the Chicago Blackhawks shocked the hockey world by lining up to shake Ovechkin's hand in a remarkable display of class and sportsmanship.
