Breaking news in Capitals Nation: The Washington Capitals organization have signed prospect Ryan Chelsey to an ATO (amateur tryout contract). Additionally, the team announces that the 21 year old defenceman is expected to sign a 3 year ELC (entry level contract) at a later time.

Now, GM Chris Patrick continues his impressive work, and fans can fully anticipate Ryan Chelsey being locked down to an ELC (entry level contract) soon.
Washington Capitals continue to bolster their farm system
It's no secret that the Washington Capitals affiliate in Hershey sets the gold standard for AHL farm systems.

The Washington Capitals selected Ryan Chelsey in the second round of the NHL entry draft back in 2022. Since then, he's been a standout blue-liner for the University of Minnesota.
The 21-year-old posted eight goals, 20 points, and a +17 rating in 40 games with the NCAA's University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.
He represented the United States at the World Junior Championships in each of the previous four seasons (the first two in the under-18s, last two in the under-20s), posting four goals, 11 points, and a +24 rating in 25 games over that time.
