Washington Capitals loan Clay Stevenson to Hershey Bears

While this roster move might not jump out as major to fans, it makes perfect sense from the organization's standpoint.
The Hershey Bears are chasing their third straight Calder Cup in the AHL, and Clay Stevenson will be a key piece of that playoff push.
The Bears came away with a big 3-0 win, thanks to a shutout performance from goaltender Hunter Shepard. Now, Stevenson will add even more depth and skill between the pipes as the team moves forward.
Meanwhile, Mitchell Gibson will head to Washington as they continue their quest towards a Stanley Cup.
Gibson, 25, won his only appearance with Hershey this season, stopping 26 of 28 shots faced in a 6-2 win at Springfield on Oct. 26, 2024. In 14 games with the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL), Gibson posted a record of 12-1-0 with a 1.75 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage. The 6'1», 207-pound goaltender also appeared in four Kelly Cup Playoff games with South Carolina, recording a 3.40 goals-against average and a .870 save percentage.

Best of luck to Clay Stevenson in Hershey.
