The Washington Capitals dressing room turned into pure chaos last night as captain Alexander Ovechkin made history, tying Wayne Gretzky's all-time scoring record.
After the team's 5-3 comeback win,
Alexander Ovechkin was the last one to enter the room. But when he finally did, the celebration was unforgettable.
As he walked in, he was met with cheers from his teammates. Champagne bottles were popping, and the energy in the room was electric.

To make matters even more special, Alexander Ovechkin received a surprise visit from Wayne Gretzky himself.

Wayne Gretzky made himself available to the media, highlighting his excitement over the events that took place.
«Alex has been so great for the city of Washington,» Gretzky said after the game. «He's been so great for the National Hockey League. And he's encouraged so many kids in his home country of Russia to play the sport of hockey. He's been nothing but a champion and I'm so proud that we're tied. I can live with that for 24 more hours. I can still say I'm tied for the most.»
Now, all eyes are on Sunday, as Ovechkin looks to break the record against the New York Islanders.
