Washington Capitals top prospect poised to crack starting roster next season

Last month, the Washington Capitals organization re-signed top prospect Bogdan Trineyev, and his impressive play with the Hershey Bears is proving that the decision was a good one.
The Hershey Bears are currently on a quest for their third consecutive Calder Trophy, and top prospect Bogdan Trineyev might be the deciding factor in their playoff run.

Coming into the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs, Hershey forward Bogdan Trineyev did not have a postseason goal in 22 outings. He's now found the back of the net four times in six games in these Calder Cup Playoffs, leading Hershey in goals. He has goals in his last three outings
According to RMNB, Trineyev, selected by the Caps in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Draft, recorded 22 points (14g, 8a) in 62 games for the AHL's Hershey Bears this year. He set new career highs in goals, assists, and points in his second full season with the Bears.
Coach Nelson of the Hershey Bears spoke highly of the young Russian during last year's development camp - hinting at a potential future in the big leagues.
«He's played on - I hate to say first, second, third, fourth line - but our fourth line was the guys that got us the winning goal in Game 6, right?» Nelson said. «And they played a huge role because they all killed penalties, and Bogdan was a big part of that.

If he continues his strong performance with the bears, don't be surprised if we see Trineyev crack the Caps' starting roster next season.
