Washington Capitals starting lineup against New York Islanders
Before the game, Washington Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery revealed forward Aliaksei Protas is out indefinitely on a week-to-week basis.
Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin takes his spot on the first line alongside Dylan Strome and Tom Wilson.
Forward Anthony Beauvillier gets his shot on the Capitals fourth line and will face off against the team that drafted him -- the New York Islanders.
Goaltender Charlie Lindgren gets the nod between the pipes and aims for his second consecutive win.
Top prospect Ryan Leonard moves down to the second line alongside Pierre-Luc Dubois and will look to build on his strong performance after scoring his first NHL goal Friday
against the Chicago Blackhawks.
With a victory today, the Washington Capitals can boost their record to 50-18-9 and claim the top spot in the NHL standings.
