The Winnipeg Jets are gearing up for a heated Game 6 showdown against the Dallas Stars tonight, but tragic news around superstar Mark Scheifele has just surfaced.

According to sources, Mark Scheifele's father has passed away and his availability for Game 6 against the Dallas Stars is now uncertain.
This is a tragic development, to say the least.
The Winnipeg Jets are currently facing elimination tonight, and their best offensive player will likely be sidelined because of a tragic incident that occured this morning.

Mark Scheifele's father passes away before Game 6 against Dallas Stars

The Winnipeg Jets currently trail the Dallas Stars 3-1 in the series, and their odds to overcome the deficit has just become more difficult.
According to Sportsnet, Brad Scheifele, the father of Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele, unexpectedly died on Friday night.
Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff broke the news to reporters in Dallas on Saturday.
Head coach Scott Arniel went back to the hotel to offer support for Scheifele.
Cheveldayoff indicated that it was too early to tell if Scheifele would be available for Game 6 against the Stars.
Mark Scheifele is one of the best players on the Jets and has served as one of their biggest leaders since his emergence in the NHL.
If Mark Scheifele were to miss tonight's Game 6, I'm sure the fanbase would completely understand.
While this news is undoubtetely tragic, we would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Scheifele family during this difficult time.
More details to follow.
