Alex Ovechkin's just received a ton of gifts after his record-breaking goal

As the new goal king with 895 goals, Alex Ovechkin received a series of stunning gifts and tributes in front of a packed Capital One Arena crowd.

The pregame ceremony was as memorable as the milestone itself and every seat was draped with a towel bearing the words «Gr8tness» and «895,» which is featuring the iconic image of Ovechkin sliding across the ice in celebration.

A video montage of his historic goal played on the jumbotron before Aex Ovechkin stepped onto the ice with his family.

Among the highlights is a six-foot sculpture of Ovechkin created by TYP, a gold-engraved hockey stick and a Rolex watch.

His sons, Sergei and Ilya all received golden mini-sticks and Capitals broadcaster Joe Beninati jokingly warning them not to use them for street hockey or take aim at dad's knees.

His wife Nastya was gifted a Cartier watch and his mother Tatyana also received a Rolex and this came just days after Ovechkin received a custom painting from the NHL and Islanders goalie Ilya Sorokin's stick following his historic goal in New York.

Wayne Gretzky himself had told Caps owner Ted Leonsis that when he broke Gordie Howe's record in 1994, he was gifted a Rolls-Royce which is a fitting comparison for how big is Alex Ovechkin's accomplishment.

Though Alex Ovechkin didn't score Thursday, he contributed an assist and some big hits in a 5-4 shootout win over the Carolina Hurricanes which a result that clinched home ice throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs for Washington.

Earlier in the week, 895 schoolchildren celebrated Ovechkin at practice and the Capitals will continue the celebration with a fan event on Friday.

With five regular-season games left and another year on his contract, the legend of Ovi continues to grow.
