The Washington Capitals win Game 1 on Monday night in dramatic fashion with a 3-2 overtime victory over the Montreal Canadiens in their first round matchup.
Capitals forward Tom Wilson has strong words after his team's Game 1 overtime victory on Monday night against the Montreal Canadiens.
Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin opened up the scoring in the first with a perfect shot from his office to beat Sam Montembeault and take a 1-0 lead in the first period.
Just 15 days after breaking Wayne Gretzky's all-time goals record, Ovechkin scored his second goal of the game 3:26 into overtime, lifting the Eastern Conference's top-seeded Capitals to a 3-2 win after they squandered a two-goal lead in the third period.
Wilson, known for his physicality, did what he had to do to set the tone early for the Capitals.

Game 2 is set for Wednesday night in Washington, before the series moves to Montreal for Games 3 and 4 on Friday and Sunday.
