The Washington Capitals have officially eliminated the Montreal Canadiens, closing out the series in five games with a 4-1 victory.

The Montreal Canadiens showed flashes of brilliance through the series, but the Capitals ultimately proved to be too much to handle.

Despite the series wrapping up quickly, it delivered pretty much everything you could ever want in a playoff series.
One of the best storylines to emerge from the series was Tom Wilson and Josh Anderson -- two gladiators who went toe-to-toe.
The pair clashed back in Game 3, getting into a heated altercation that quickly became a viral sensation.

Tom Wilson and Josh Anderson share heartfelt moment

You can see their exchange in the link below:
After the final whistle tonight, both teams took part in the traditional post-series handshake at centre ice.
Surprisingly, Wilson and Anderson shared a moment that caught many off guard.
Going into it, I expected their handshake to be brief and cold -- maybe no eye contact at all. I couldn't have been more wrong.
Wilson stopped and exchanged a few words with Anderson in what appeared to be a genuinely respectful and heartfelt moment.
It's moments like these that remind us why hockey stands apart from the rest.
One minute you're battling tooth and nail, and the next, you can be sitting down, enjoying a beer together.
It was a great display of sportsmanship between two fierce competitors.
Tom Wilson showed real class here and reminded everyone why he's such a strong ambassador for the game.
Hopefully, both these teams clash in the playoffs again in 2026.
Well done, Montreal.
